How Fighting Works
Get your Elf!
To play EFC, players need an NFT Elf. Join our Discord to learn about opportunities to get an elf.
And yes, a player can own multiple elves!
Fighting is the game
"EFC is like Zed Run, except it's elves... in a cage fight... to feed hungry children." - CryptoTeresa
The fighting in EFC is the game. Players don't control the elf during the fight (in other words, this isn't Street Fighter with elves). Rather players strategically prepare their elf, round by round, to fight. EFC then simulates the fight for the players (and the world) to watch (via Twitch).
Understand how an Elf wins a fight
Fights run 3 rounds. The elf that wins 2 of the 3 rounds is named the winner of the fight.
Understand an Elf's Chi level

You can learn all about Chi over here but the basic things to know are:
Chi determines which elves make a fair pairing to fight
Chi determines the purse value of each fight
Chi gets applied to fighting skills as the core strategy of the game
The fight audience influences the Chi distribution
Understand an Elf's fighting skills
There are 3 skills for these first generation Elves:
Taekwondo (TKW)
Jujitsu (JUJI)
Kickboxing (KIKB)
Each skill has a collection of moves in the game, but this is purely for viewing pleasure. What matters are the Chi levels for each fighting style. Chi values in each skill will define the statistical probability of damage per attack.

As stated, players apply the Chi to boost the 3 fighting styles for each round of the fight. And don't forget that the audience members that picked the player's team get to influence the Chi distribution.
Understand the fight logic
EFC runs logic against each elf's 3 fighting skills Chi levels to determine the damage incurred to each elf during the round.
When an attack is carried out, the fighting skill attack damage has the potential damage outcome multiplied by the actual chi value of that skill. This is compared to the opponent elf's defensive counter to minimize the damage. This defensive counter is informed by the Chi the elf has for the same fighting skill.
Example: If one elf has set high Chi on one fighting skill that the other elf has very little Chi for, the damage will be heavy.
